However, Kenneth did recently admit that he is homesick for his life and family in Florida, despite being happy with Armando. He has now opened up, giving more details about his homesickness for Florida.

90 Day Fiancé stars Kenneth and Armando

St. Petersburg native, Kenneth Niedermeier left his home and his children to be with his love, Armando Rubio in Mexico. Once he was there, he and Armando had problems getting Armando’s family to accept their relationship. On top of this, Kenneth had problems adjusting to life and culture in Mexico. Despite this, the couple was able to finally get permission to marry after initially having problems getting the permit.

In the last season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Armando finally came out to his parents, telling them of his relationship with Kenneth. Despite all the problems, in real life Kenneth and Armando were married in Mexico in May in a romantic ceremony. However, while they are happy to be with each other, Kenneth does have some problems.

Kenneth is homesick for Florida

Kenneth has spent most of his life in the US, with 16 years living in St. Petersburg in Florida. It was a big sacrifice for him to move to Mexico, leaving his four children and his grandson behind. The 90 Day Fiancé star recently spoke to the Tampa Bay Times, explaining why he is still homesick.

Kenneth explained that he still prefers Florida over Mexico and explained that there are a lot of things he misses about the whole Tampa Bay area. He said that he has spent almost two decades in St. Petersburg and had raised his family there. Kenneth said this makes the area and the memories unbelievably special for him.

Differences between Mexico and Florida

Niedermeier also spoke generally about the differences between Mexico and his hometown in Florida. He said he loves St. Pete because of how diverse and open it is. Kenneth explained that as an openly gay man, he felt comfortable and safe raising his children there. However, the TLC reality star went on to explain that it was a bit of a shock moving to Mexico, where he doesn’t feel the same sense of freedom. At first, it was difficult to get permission to marry, but they eventually did.

Kenneth went on to explain that after the wedding, he and Armando are planning to make some important changes. In fact, he said 90 Day Fiancé fans will see some of these in the latest season. Kenneth also spoke about his immediate future, outside of reality TV. He said he will be in Florida during October when his daughter gives birth. However, Kenneth also revealed that Armando won’t be able to join him as he is unable to go to America as yet due to the pandemic.
