Dr. Mercy Is A New Medical Series By TLC
TLC airs a lot of shows. Not all of them are gross, and fans watch the 90 Day Fiancé franchise almost all the time these days. Actually, more and more spinoffs arrive, and fans still seem keen on watching more of it. Sometimes, shows that run on for too long lose viewers and the ratings tank. Bear in mind, MTV’s Teen Mom series took a knock recently with the ratings. So, clearly, TLC programming gets something right.
Unexpected, very similar to Teen Mom, might do better than MTV as the cast doesn’t seem to stay on into their dotage. Meanwhile, medical shows seem popular on TLC as well. But, is Dr. Mercy too much as gross medical conditions seem to appeal to a certain type of viewer? Howard Lee, the President of TLC Streaming and Network Originals talked about their medical shows.
In a statement, he said, “TLC is home to some of the best medical professionals in the world and we are always looking to add fresh, new faces to our outstanding roster of doctors.”
Dr. Mercy Storyline Explained
E! Online revealed that Dr. Mercy, a real person, is based in Chicago. The dermatologist attends to some “wild” disorders and conditions. She treats people with conditions like “giant cysts” and “extreme moles.” Other conditions also come on the show and some teasers revealed them as really extreme. A teaser came four days ago, and on September 19, a poster for the show also appeared on TLC’s Instagram.
Actually, little enthusiasm is evident in the comments of the two posts. Only about 11k people watched the Dr. Mercy teaser and it collected only nine comments. Meanwhile, the poster only attracted 360 likes and eight comments. That doesn’t seem like loads of fans can’t wait for it.
In comparison, a recent teaser for My Feet Is Killing me got nearly 18k views. Some fans commented that it seems just like too much gross stuff on the network.
Fans Comment On Gross Medical Shoes
On fans lost it and told the network, “Absolutely disgusting!!! You showed this commercial of gross growths on people’s body while people could be eating. Unacceptable!! No more TLC!” Then another fan wrote, “No thank you!” Agreeing in the replies, a disgruntled fan noted, “100% agree!!! I hate those medical shows. 😫”
