A few days prior, her ex Matt Roloff, who she’s been married to for almost 30 years before their 2016 split, shared that the building for the wedding venue has been completed, and in time too!
Amy Roloff Gushes about the Final Touches before Her Wedding Day
On Friday, August 27, the reality TV star excitedly shared the last minute details added to the venue and how the decor is coming together ahead of her nuptials.
On the Instagram Story, we see the 56-year-old decorating the family farm, which is in Hillsboro, Oregon, with friends.
“Wedding decor is going up!” she captioned one of the videos, jokingly adding that a chicken featured in the shot was her “surprise guest helper”.
In a second clip, she gave a shout-out to two of her friends for “helping create a magical experience.” She then showed their progress on the venue so far, adding the tag “Team Bride” to the clip.
A few days prior, Amy visited the Dahlia Festival in Canby, Oregon, and picked out a few flowers she wanted to display at the event. “I’m so excited because I have bunches of flowers for my wedding,” she said on her Instagram Story. “And they’re big and bold and beautiful.”
Road to Amy Roloff and Chris Marek’s Wedding
The Little People Big World star and her then-boyfriend Chris Marek announced their engagement in September 2019. At the time of the announcement, Amy only thought of the Roloff Farms as a second choice because of the years of memories it invokes and to also keep things from being awkward, as the farm is currently solely owned by her ex-husband Matt Roloff.
But after finding it hard to find the right venue for the wedding as a result of the pandemic, Amy and Chris later decided to tie the knot at the Roloff Farms.
“COVID came into play because I think a lot of people either changed or canceled and moved whatever was going on in 2020 to 2021, so other places just kind of eroded away and plan B became plan A,” she announced on the June episode of their show LPBW.
“The farm has beautiful scenery and we just don’t know what’s going to happen with COVID,” she continued. “So it’s easier to have it there.”
According to a source, Matt and his girlfriend Caryn are more than happy to have the couple have their wedding at the farm, “Amy and Chris are able to use the farm for free, but they are of course paying for their own wedding.”
The insider also added that though the ex-couple don’t always see eye-to-eye, they’re working through their issues for the sake of their children and grandchildren.
