Amy, Matt and The Roloff Farm
Fans know that the Roloff farm is an uncomfortable topic for both Matt and Amy Roloff. A lot of things have happened in this place and when they got divorced, they even argued as to how they would divide the property. Matt offered to purchase her shares and it took Amy quite a while before she decided to give it up. She eventually sold her share to her ex-husband.
Now, Amy has finally moved on with her life and she’s now engaged to Chris Marek. They got engaged back in 2019 and their wedding plans have been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Matt Extends Olive Branch
Fans may recall that Matt offered the Roloff Farms to be Chris and Amy’s wedding venue. Chris was on board with the idea, which was quite surprising. It was Amy who was reluctant to accept the offer. But it seems like she has changed her mind.
Amy Chooses Plan B
PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek at Tuesday’s episode revealed that Amy has chosen the Roloff Farm as the official wedding venue.
“Chris and I have made the final decision on the wedding venue and we’re getting married at Roloff Farms,” Amy said in the clip. The 56-year-old star said she and Chris weighed their options and checked other venues before they decided on the farm.
When asked what convinced her to do the ceremony on the farm, Amy said COVID was one of the factors. She explained that a lot of people have canceled their wedding plans because of the pandemic and many of them moved their events to 2021.
“Other places just kind of eroded away and plan B became plan A,” she explained, with plan B referring to the Roloff farm.
She admitted that it was a hard choice but the farm has beautiful scenery. She added that they’re unsure what will happen next with the pandemic and holding their wedding in the farm will be much easier.
Amy Roloff and Chris Marek will exchange their wedding vows on August 28, 2021.
