Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – The Phoenix Always Rises From The Ashes
Days of Our Lives viewers will recall that Stefano’s last resurrection in Steve Johnson’s (Stephen Nichols) body wasn’t exactly either Stefano’s nor Steve’s choice. Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) had to find a younger, healthier body in which to implant Stefano’s “essence” – meaning an artificial intelligence computer chip – to implant in Steve’s brain. Stefano’s original body was old, diseased, and unable to be revived, according to Rolf.
He told “Steveano” that Steve was the only person he had access to in order to make sure the Phoenix survived. Days of Our Lives viewers will also recall that once Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley) took “Steveano” down with a well-aimed spike heel to the eye, it was easy to get him to Salem University Hospital, where Dr. Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) with some assistance was able to remove the artificial intelligence chip and get Steve back.
Luckily, Steve just lost the same eye he did years ago in that fight with Bo Brady (Peter Reckell). The eye had not been a real eye anyway but an artificial one with spyware – but for “Steveano” the spike of Anna’s heel did damage to the eye socket anyway. Then, once the chip was retrieved, Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) gave “Stefano” a final funeral by burning the chip in an ashtray. But does the Phoenix not always rise from the ashes eventually?
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Dr. Wilhelm Rolf Would Have Made Sure The Chip Was Not The Only Copy
Days of Our Lives viewers will recall that Stefano was very important to Rolf. Would he not have made sure there was another copy of his “essence” on a backup artificial intelligence chip somewhere? Days of Our Lives viewers will also recall that even though Rolf is currently in prison, it doesn’t mean that he may not have trained one or more protégés to take his place. Rolf is getting up there in years himself, and Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) was one who studied under him, although he could not really be considered a protégé of Rolf.
A couple of years back, when Will Horton (Chandler Massey) nearly died from the apparent side effects of a resurrection serum that Rolf had made, Rex, along with Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) was able to synthesize an antidote just in time to reverse the potentially fatal brain tumor that Will had developed.
Will certainly had a little help from grandmother Caroline Brady (Peggy McKay) who had just passed over, and sent him back. But if Rex studied under Rolf, others certainly must have as well, and perhaps Rolf handpicked someone to succeed him in his very important work. Whoever that might be, might have been looking for the perfect candidate to implant a spare version of Stefano’s “essence” in and that person might just be who Richard Steinmetz will play!
