This New Baby Is A Surprise
The Mama June: Road To Redemption star says she has been trying for a while to get pregnant but had no success. Pumpkin says she went off birth control a year and half ago and got tired of receiving negative pregnancy test results. Pumpkin and her husband Joshua Efird decided to stop taking test and let nature take its course. All of her waiting paid off when she learned last November that she was pregnant.
Pumpkin’s new baby is due in July. Pumpkin says she and Joshua had come to terms with the idea that Ella may be an only child and we’re ok with that. Then Pumpkin states that she was feeling funny one day and took a test and it came back positive. Pumpkin could not be more thrilled even though she says it has been nerve-wracking as well.
Lauryn Shannon Has Some Concerns
Although the Mama June: Road To Redemption star is excited, she also has some concerns. Pumpkin’s husband works in South Carolina, so he is not home to help with the everyday parenting tasks.
While Joshua provides for the family, Pumpkin is responsible for the everyday maintenance of not only a house but also taking care of what is soon to be two children. Pumpkin has also had custody of her sister Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson as well. Pumpkin took Alana when their mother was arrested in 2019.
Alana Thompson Feels Like A Burden
Mama June: Road To Redemption star Alana already feels like a burden to her sister and wants her to be able to move on with her life. Alana does not feel that her sister, who is only 21, should be taking care of her 15-year-old sibling because of their mother’s addiction. Pumpkin does not believe that Alana should be worried about such things considering her age. On Friday’s episode of We-tv’s Mama June: Road To Redemption the girls came face to face with their mother and discussed how her addiction has affected them.
June Shannon has now been clean for a year and just learned about her new grandchild on this episode. June is happy about the baby even though she does not believe her daughter needs another child. Hopefully, the family can move forward and reconnect as mother and daughters.
