Spoilers tease that John will be mourning Steve’s departure. We know that the two are best friends. At one time, they even had a business together called Black Patch. Despite John being sad that his friend is leaving once again, he will understand his reasoning. To help him cope with losing Steve, Marlena will be there to try and provide some comfort to John.

While actors come and go on soaps all the time, fans are usually given some sort of confirmation of exits ahead of time. We don’t have one yet for Nichols, just like we don’t have one for Eric Martsolf, who plays Brady Black and plans on leaving town as well.

So, something definitely happens that will encourage Steve to say. Could it possibly be Steve finally revealing to Kayla that he is still in love with her? We will have to keep watching the NBC soap to find out.
