Sister Wives Spoilers: The Brown Family Went To Court For Bigamy Charges
The Brown family went to court for bigamy charges for their polygamist lifestyle. Kody Brown is one of the most popular reality stars. But do you know everything there is to know about the Sister Wives star? As per In Touch Weekly, Kody and Meri Brown filed for bankruptcy back on June 6, 2005. The couple only had $15 in their bank account at the time. Kody and Meri’s reported debt was over $200,000. The Sister Wives stars were forced to pay $187,885 after closing their legal case in 2007.
According to a Radar Online report, Kody and his family were kicked out of their own church. The Apostolic United Brethren Church distanced themselves from the famous family after Meri’s catfishing scandal. Meri was involved with someone who ended up catfishing her. She thought she was chatting with a charming and handsome man named Sam. But it turned out to be a woman named Jackie playing a cruel joke on her.
Sister Wives Spoilers – The Church Thinks The Browns Are Too Public
Sources told Radar Online that the church thought that the Brown family was “too public.” In other bizarre news, Janelle used to be Kody’s stepsister. Kody’s father, William, was married to Janelle’s mom, Sheryl. William and Sheryl fell in love and got married before Kody and Janelle knew each other. Kody’s dad was also a polygamist. Sadly, Kody’s dad passed away in 2013.
Kody was then investigated for charges of bigamy in the state of Utah. This case became headline news after Sister Wives premiered in 2010. Sister Wives fans believe this is the reason why the Brown family moved from Levi, Utah to Las Vegas, Nevada during that time. The charges against the family were dropped.
