Actor Stephen Amell played Oliver Queen, also known as the Green Arrow, in the Arrow’s eight-season run. The hooded avenger had to sacrifice himself to save humanity during The CW’s crossover show titled Crisis on Infinite Earths. Season 8 was also the series finale, which was a tribute to the late hero’s life and legacy.
Arrowverse Producers Are Still Talking About The Return Of Green Arrow
The Arrow series first aired on The CW in 2012. It was created by Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti, and Marc Guggenheim. When the original series first aired, it was not a hit. The Green Arrow was not a popular comic book character in the mainstream world.
Even though The Dark Knight trilogy became the inspiration for Arrow, the movies also brought a darkness to future superhero adaptations. Arrow went on to launch several spinoff series including The Flash and launching a multi-show superhero multiverse. Even though the Green Arrow is now gone, the Arrowverse will continue to live on.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Arrow executive producers Beth Schwartz and Marc Guggenheim talked about the show’s finale and the hard work that was put into it. That’s when they teased the possibility of Amell’s return to the Arrowverse.
“Who Knows What’s Going To Happen In The Future?”
“Who knows what’s going to happen in the future?” Guggenheim said. “The only thing I always say every time a character dies on any of the shows, it’s like, we’ve got alternate realities. We got time travel, we got flashbacks, you name it. We have all these different devices. No one’s ever really gone.”
Arrow fans know that death doesn’t last long in the Arrowverse. Characters have died and come back from the dead with actors playing different roles. Since the Arrow team has not ruled out this possibility, it’s likely that fans could see Amell reprise his role and wear the dark green hood in the near future. Most of the Arrowverse shows are still on the air. In the Arrowverse, anything is possible. What are your thoughts? Sound off below in the comments section.
