Game of Thrones Spinoff Starts Casting Call For Targaryens

The latest Game of Thrones spinoff is looking for its Targaryens. Even though the HBO series ended in April 2019, fans are looking forward to a new spinoff called House of the Dragon. The series is moving rapidly. The latest announcement is about casting call looking for the series leads. Knight Edge Media made the announcement of the casting call.

The series is looking for three Targaryens characters. The series is said to be based on George R.R. Martin’s companion book Fire& Blood. It will take place 300 years before the events of the Game of Thrones unfolded.

Since the show is in the early stages, there is no release date. However, screenwriter Ryan Condal and director Miguel Sapochnik are working on the material, which will document the history of the Targaryens. The family’s presence comes as good news to fans as they worked on the popular episodes “Battle of the Bastards” and “Hardhome.”

According to King Edge Media, they are looking for actors to play Aegon, Rhaenys and Visenya Targaryen. It may suggest that the series will follow the Targaryen invasion of Westeros as they rise to power.

The Series Will Follow The Targaryen Invasion Of Westeros As They Rise To Power.

That won’t be the case for East of Westeros since plans for Jane Goldman’s The Long Night isn’t moving forward, as reported by Screen Rant. The show’s creators are looking for more a diverse family of Targaryens, if the casting call is any indication. House of the Dragon will have its own storytelling and will focus on more characters outside of Westeros. That means more supporting cast members from Dorne and the Summer Islands.

This will be interesting if these reports are true. Aegon and his sister became popular on Game of Thrones, including Daenerys. But of course, one person’s hero is another’s villain. It’ll be interesting to see what happens for Rhaenys, Visenya, among others. What are your thoughts on House of the Dragon? Sound off below in the comments section.
