It was April of 1983 when Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) returned to Salem after a stint in the merchant marines and Hope Williams (Kristian Alfonso) returned to Salem from boarding school. We soon learned they knew one another as children and their young adult attraction was evident from the start when they met up one night at Shenanigans and Bo took “Little One” home on the back of his motorcycle.

One of soaps’ most popular and enduring supercouples was born that day and 40 years later their love is apparent as ever as Hope finally learns that Bo is alive and is able to see him, hear him, and touch him. She knows something horrible has happened to him and is not quite himself, but she also knows that she can reach him if she only has time to do it.

Will The Reunion Live Up To The Hype?

“This is the money shot,” Head Writer Ron Carlivati said in the May 1, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “This is what people are tuning in to see in the storyline. You don’t want to do that on day one, you want to have a build so that there’s a big moment that happens when they come together.”

The problem that some fans have is that they will not be able to come together for long on our screens due to the actors not wanting to return to the soap full-time. They wanted Bo and Hope to have their happily ever after, but it looks as if that is not meant to be.

“That the height of that big moment, the moment where we see Bo’s defenses breaking down, the moment where Hope is breaking through to him and the reunion is about to happen, intervening forces are going to kind of have a giant impact on his this reunion plays out.”

Um, that does not sound promising for long-time Bo and Hope fans, but apparently, they are must-see-TV.
