Recently fans heard the voice of Louise Sorel as Vivian Alamain. That was in February when she contacted her son, Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).

Reports indicate that the legendary actress has begun taping on set and it won’t be long before the character is mixing up mischief.

The character was last seen in 2020. Other soap stars who have played Vivian are Robin Strasser (ex-Dorian Lord, One Life to Live) and Linda Dano (ex-Felicia, Another World).

Sorel has had a long and storied soap career. Her first daytime role was Augusta Wainwright on NBC’s soap Santa Barbara. She starred on SB from July 1984 to August 1986, and then again from November 1988 to May 1989. She came back the following October and stayed until 1991.

When she was not on SB she appeared on ABC’s One Life to Live as District Attorney Judith Russell Sanders. She played Vivian Alamain on DOOL from March 1992 until February 2000.

Fans could not get enough of the lovely and talented actress and Sorel won Soap Opera Digest Awards as “Outstanding Villainess” in 1994, “Outstanding Showstopper” in 1997 and again in 1999 as “Outstanding Scene Stealer.”

She left DOOL In 2000 and joined the cast of the Port Charles as Donatella Stewart. In 2001 she appeared on the ABC soap All My Children as Judge Kay Campobello and in 2004 appeared on Passions as Dort.

Vivian is sure to bring the fire to town and long time fans will appreciate a veteran character mingling with the boatload of newbies currently on air.
