Days Of Our Lives Paul Telfer Addresses John Aniston’s Death

On November 11, 2022, the soap world and the world at large lost a legend as John Aniston passed away. The news of his death was confirmed by his daughter Jennifer Aniston on November 14. Aniston was best known for playing Victoria Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives. He was a beloved man and so was his character. Many of his Days colleagues and those who worked with him at some point released some heartfelt tributes. One such touching tribute came from Paul Telfer who plays his onscreen nephew, Xander Kiriakis.

Telfer told People Magazine, “He was my mentor on the show in as much as Victor was Zander’s mentor within the narrative. Mostly because being around him, learning the lessons of brevity and wit and strength, all the things I hope to continue on from his style and bring into mine, ultimately it’s just gratitude in being exposed to such a consummate actor.”

On Twitter, however, he quoted a tweet shared by a fan which included a video of a scene with Telfer’s Xander and Aniston’s Victor. He said, “One of my very fave scenes. So lucky to have had the chance to learn from the master. Rest In Peace John.”

Aniston first appeared on the NBC series in the role of Victor in July 1985 and made his most recent appearance in an episode that aired November 11, the day before the annual Day of Days event when the cast came out to meet and greet their fans. During that episode, Victor prepared to celebrate his wedding anniversary and had a chat with his nephew Xander, played by Paul Telfer.

That is not the last fans have seen of Aniston as the show revealed in a statement that there is a special tribute planned to honor Aniston and his alter ego. His last episode recorded while he was alive is set to air on December 26, 2022, which marks the end of an era and a fabulous run for a Days of Our Lives hero.
