Days of Our Lives Spoilers: How Megan Hathaway DiMera’s Resurrection Came About

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: How Megan Hathaway DiMera’s Resurrection Came AboutDays of Our Lives spoilers reveal the residents of Salem being oblivious to the fact that one of Stefano DiMera’s supposedly dead and horrible children is really alive, but they may find out soon enough.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Dead Is Never Dead In Salem

Megan Hathaway DiMera perished — or so we thought — way, way back in 1985 when she was electrocuted in a hot tub after she had rigged the hot tub to kill Hope Williams (Kristian Alfonso). When Larry Welch (Andrew Massett) and Megan struggled, Larry pushed Megan, she fell into the tub, and that was the end of her. Or so fans thought for nearly two decades.

Miranda Wilson, who played Megan then and Megan on Beyond Salem, and back in the 80s went by the name Cheryl Ann Wilson, always knew there was a chance Megan could be resurrected. It’s Days of Our Lives, after all. But there is still more to it than that. It’s her DiMera heritage and genes.

“I was Stefano’s daughter and he was The Phoenix, so I knew there was a chance, that it was not impossible,” Wilson said in the August 2, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “When I came back for the 50th-anniversary party, it was just glorious. I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun if…?”

And that that ‘if’ looked more like a reality as Wilson found fan groups lobbying for her return and she joined in, as social media allows you to do that.

Miranda Wilson Got The Call She’d Been Waiting For

Finally, more than five years after the 50th anniversary, Wilson got the call about bringing Megan back to the land of the living on Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, and she was all for it.

“The way that Ron [Carlivati, head writer] has written her very much honors the character created back in the day by Sheri Anderson, Al Rabin, and Shelly Curtis,” Wilson said of the former DOOL writers and producers. “I’m not joking when I say that it’s as if Megan went to sleep one night — and woke up the next day. It just happens to be 37 years later, but nothing else has changed.”

Megan is even still obsessed with Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and is the one responsible for bringing him back to the land of the living. Will we have to wait to Beyond Salem 3 to see what happens with that? Stay tuned to Days of Our Lives weekdays to find out.
