Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Ava Leaves Salem With Nothing Left

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal another death in town and it looks like that death will be Jake DiMera, Ava Vitali’s latest love.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: What Does Ava Have Left?

When Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) became one of Salem’s back-from-the-dead characters, it got Joey Johnson (then played by James Lastovic) sprung from jail, but it seemed the soap wasn’t sure what to do with Ava. We soon learned she was really Charlie Dale’s (Mike Manning) mother but then he was killed. At least she had her long-lost son, Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams), around and they became close pretty fast — especially after Charlie drugged his mother and she ended up in the hospital.

Ava soon lost her edge after that after Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) convinced Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) to allow her to live with him. Ava enjoyed living in Rafe’s house and eventually fell for him. Since his romance with Nicole wasn’t taking off, Rafe began a romance with Ava and she fell into an extremely dull life. Heck, she wasn’t even obsessed with Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) anymore.

Ava Finally Gets Interesting

When Ava learned that Nicole and Rafe slept together and were keeping the truth from her, she actually became interesting again when she tried to enact revenge against them. Since the revenge was about an annoying Teddy bear, the story fell flat, but at least it was something.

Once Rafe and Ava were officially over, Ava’s mob ties came back into play and she finally ended up with someone rough around the edges once again — Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash). But now it looks like Jake is going to die, so why would Ava even stay in Salem? Rafe and Steve have no interest in her and Tripp just left Salem.

Unless Ava is somehow involved with Jake’s death, why keep this character? While Tamara Braun is an incredible actress in any role she plays, Ava Vitali is a character without enough ties to the canvas to keep in Salem for long.

While we expect we may see her again, for now, it may be time to rest her and bring another rotation of Salemites in. While we can’t be sure this will happen, the writing seems to be on the wall for Ava just as it is for Jake. Stay tuned to Days of Our Lives weekdays to see how this story plays out.
