Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem Went Beyond Expectations

Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem Went Beyond ExpectationsDays of Our Lives was on fire on every front last week in Salem and beyond with Lucas and Sami’s wedding blowing up in Salem just in time for Marlena Evans to take a trip beyond Salem and rescue John Black and Steve Johnson.

Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem Had It All

While life went on in Salem, fans learned a thing or two about long-missed characters. It turns out little Andrew Donovan (Colton Little) grew into an ISA agent and might start a romance with Paul Narita (Christopher Sean), John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) son. We finally know that Chris Kositchek (Josh Taylor) has spent the last 40 years running a Body Connection in San Francisco while married to Savannah Wilder (Shannon Tweed) the whole time.

We also know that Megan Hathaway (Miranda Wilson)survived that hot tub electrocution way back in 1984 and that Eve Donovan’s ex, Harris Michaels (Steve Burton), didn’t grow up to be a great guy. Kind of like Eve herself.

Fans also finally learned where Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) has been the last two years and why she missed every important event in Ciara Brady Weston’s (Victoria Konefal) life. That was closure needed for the main show, or as the producers call it, The Mothership. But Beyond Salem went beyond that.

Longtime DOOL Fans Knew What Was Coming

As soon as fans realized that this spin-off mini-series was about those three prisms Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) wanted so long ago to cure his brain tumor, it all made sense. Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and John mentioned cryogenic freezing and we knew — by Friday Bo Brady would be alive in a cryogenic chamber and the prisms would be used to cure his brain tumor. And that is exactly what happened.

In between, we were treated to Bo’s time in heaven with his buddy Angela (Loretta Devine) and his moments when Hope made a brief trip beyond the pearly gates, only to be sent back to Earth because it wasn’t her time. The chemistry between Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso was as strong last week as it was back in 1983, proving the magic is still there to revive Bo and Hope, one of the most popular pairs in soap opera history. Look for news about Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, Chapter 3 because it’s sure not to continue the tale of Bope.
