Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Nicole Walker Hernandez Is Newly Married

Nicole and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) had just barely been married a couple of weeks or so when Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) murder happened, and Rafe has been working a lot! The Salem police department has been very short-staffed since Lani and Eli Grant (Sal Stowers, Lamon Archey) left although a new detective Jada Hunter (Ella Cantu) is coming on board. Even Detective Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) has been busy with outside issues, such as a new baby and trying to keep track of Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) who’s missing.

Nicole and Rafe had a long conversation before they suddenly eloped about if Nicole had really moved on from Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and she claimed she had. However, she really wasn’t being honest with herself and has been pushing her lingering feelings for Eric down!

DOOL Spoilers: People Can Tell That Nicole Hernandez And Eric Brady Still Have Mutual Feelings

Nicole knows that other people can tell that Nicole and Eric still have mutual feelings for each other, so of course she tries to avoid Eric as much as possible! Avoidance of Eric is even more important when she is out in public with Rafe, because she doesn’t want him to notice! Nicole portrayer Arianne Zucker notes in Soap Opera Digest that Nicole can see why people bring her feelings for Eric up, as well as his for her. It hasn’t been all that long since they broke up and the divorce hasn’t even been final for all that long. When they ended their relationship Nicole honestly didn’t want to end it but thought it best for Eric!

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Being Married To One And Having Feelings For Another Is Hard

Being married to Rafe while pushing down feelings for Eric is really, really hard on Nicole; she just would prefer that the feelings for Eric would hurry up and die! Unbeknownst to her, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) had pushed Eric to be honest with Nicole about his lingering feelings for her, only to find out she’d already married Rafe! Rafe never had a chance to be honest with her about his own feelings, so of course they are also going to show when he’s around her!

Nicole and Eric will share a rather fraught moment with Eric but she is determined to stick with Rafe. It is understandably awkward for both Nicole and Eric to be around each other, but this time is apparently unusually so!

Nicole wants her marriage to Rafe to last, Rafe is a stable and grounded man and stability and grounding is what Nicole needs. They two fought off their feelings for each other for many months when he was seriously involved and living with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) until they could no more. But Eric was still in Africa, and Nicole didn’t realize she still had feelings for him until he returned to Salem to stay! Until the feelings for him completely die, Nicole will just have to avoid contact with Eric as much as she can!
