Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal Ben and Ciara heading out of town the Brady way this week — on a sailboat with their baby to see the world. While fans will be sad to see them go, it was something that had to happen.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: When One Actor Decides To Go

DOOL Head Writer Ron Carlivati has been dealing with some troubles with the soaps’ most popular couples of late. In the case of Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Abby DiMera, Abigail ended up murdered in her bed, brutally stabbed by a mystery assailant (mystery as of now) because Marci Miller didn’t want to sign a contract with this show.

While Chad and Abigail got a very sad ending (for now), Ben and Ciara are going to get a happy one, but they are also sailing away because Victoria Konefal doesn’t want to sign a contract.

“My attitude is these actors are super-talented, they’re young, they want to go see what else they can do,” Carlivati said in the July 12, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “And I think that’s great, but harder for us. But I do think they should definitely go and try.”

They Couldn’t Kill Ciara Again

This is not the first time that Konefal felt the need to do more things, but when she first went off-contract, the soap decided to kill her. Carlivati knew they couldn’t do that again. “With Victoria, she really just was not available on a regular basis and in the way our how works and how you have to schedule people, it just became less and less feasible to keep her in that status,” he said.

“So, you’re like, ‘Does the couple go off into the sunset?’ Does someone die?’…Half the couple leaving often times doesn’t work, like ‘Oh, this is person is going to go take a job over here?’ Well, how do you tell story for the other half?'”

So, Carlivati made the decision for both Ben and Ciara to go. However, rumor has it Robert Scott Wilson is still working on the DAYS set and will return in a few months as a new character, Alexander Kiriakis, son of Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and Angelica Deveraux Jane Elliot, Judith Chapman, Morgan Fairchild).
