Days of Our Lives (DOOL) Spoilers: Lamon Archey Not Happy Over Days Exit
Days of Our Lives Lamon Archey (Eli Grant) is very upset over how Days of Our Lives handled his character’s exit from the NBC show. Archey has been on the show since 2017. Should Days writers have handled his exit differently?
Days of Our Lives Lamon Archey Has Broken His Silence
Days of Our Lives Eli and Lani Grant (Sal Stowers) left the show on Friday, July 1, 2022. Lani has been sentenced to prison in Maryland. Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) stopped by to discuss that with Eli. Since there is a problem with a prisoner already in custody, Lani cannot stay at Statesville.
Eli suddenly chose to pack up and move closer to where his wife will be serving her sentence for his exit story. Archey recently revealed that his exit did not go as well as wanted. Now that Archey has expressed his opinion of the handling of his exit, is there any hope that Eli might return in the future?
Days of Our Lives – Lamon Archey Did Not Want To Leave
Days of Our Lives Lamon didn’t want to leave the show in the first place. However, Days executives didn’t want to keep him on reoccurring status. Lamon has other projects going on and could not commit to a contract deal with the show. Lamon’s part-time status is just not something the show executives could deal with. Lamon has been dividing his time between Days and The CW’s All American. With Sal leaving as well, it was very hard for the writers to have any way to have a good story for Eli without his wife.
Days of Our Lives Lamon Archey “Would Have Done Something Different”
Days of Our Lives Lamon told his agent that he didn’t want to be on contract anymore. Lamon states that he simply did not want to be tied down and not be able to seek other jobs. Lamon says he understands that his exit had to be written quickly. On the other hand, Sal was very happy with the storyline and their exit. Sal believes that her last episode was some of her best work. Although the actors had very different reactions to their departures, both made sure their exits were meaningful. Eli had a very heartfelt talk with Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) before his departure. Eli wants Julie to visit him and stay in his children’s lives.
Lamon’s exit might not have been exactly what he thought it should be but the door was left open for Eli to return at some point in the future. Will Lani and Eli eventually return to Salem? Only time will tell if the couple will return, until then, we wish them luck in their other pursuits.
