Days of Our Lives has a secret comic weapon it can bring back at any moment and it’s just not been using that weapon for well over a year now and we want to know why. Where is Vivian Alamain?

Days of Our Lives Can Bring Back Any Vivian

While we certainly get a lot of Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) to bring comic relief to the soap, we need a villainess who can do so and Vivian Alamain has fit that bill since the 1990s. Along with her manservant Ivan Marais (Ivan G’Vera), Vivian and her loyal man can always make us laugh and DAYS has a plethora of veteran actresses who can slip back into the role at a moment’s notice.

Louise Sorel is the original Vivian and the one who buried Carly Manning (Crystal Chappell) alive all those decades ago, while also stealing Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) and Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) embryo, giving birth to Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson).

She was the Vivian who brought Stefan O. DiMera (originally played by Tyler Christopher) to town as her son, the one she never knew she gave birth to, making her yet another woman who has a child by Stefano DiMera (Joe Mascolo). After Stefan was killed, we learned she actually gave birth to two children, and Jake (Brandon Barash) was Stefan’s twin.

Over the last few years when Sorel couldn‘t play the role, two other soap veterans stepped in and did amazing jobs — One Life to Live alum Robin Strasser (ex-Dorian) and Another World alum Linda Dano (ex-Felicia). With such a rich choice of actresses, there is no reason not to have Vivian around.

Vivian Has Ties Everywhere

Aside from the fact that Vivian has been a part of Salem life off and on for four decades, she has this son in Salem who she barely knows. Stefan has been making himself comfortable as a DiMera for quite a while now and may want to get to know his mother, no matter how manipulative and crazy she is. Let’s not forget that Dano’s Vivian kidnapped Lani Price’s (Sal Stowers) twins as payback for her killing Stefan. She loves her children, even in her own twisted way.

Bring back Vivian and bring a little more fun back to Salem when we need it and let’s not forget to have Ivan with her because he is her yin to her yang. Will it happen? Can it happen? Sure it can. Stay tuned to Days of Our Lives weekdays to see if the soap makes that smart move.
