Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings: Lucas Adams Out As Tripp
Days of Our Lives comings and goings reveal the end of Tripp Johnson once again. But at least he doesn’t die at the hands of the devil.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Tripp Leaves Town
Although Tripp survived his own self jumping out the window in a bid to rid Salem and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) of the devil, his romance with Allie did not. Despite loving Tripp and being grateful for what he did for her, Allie still went with her heart and chose Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens), who still has yet to choose her. However, a heartbroken Tripp decides it’s time to leave Salem once again and start life anew as a young doctor somewhere else.
“Tripp thinks he needs a bit of a fresh start, a reset,” actor Lucas Adams said in the June 21, 2022 issue of Soap Opera Digest. “He’s not saying goodbye forever. He’s just saying ‘I need to go and clear my head. I think about everybody else all the time. I need to think about myself for like five minutes.”
This is the second time Tripp has decided to leave Salem over heartbreak after a big, big mess with Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) several years back. Claire wanted Tripp so much her jealousy was out of control and she even stabbed him in a jealous rage. At least Allie didn’t go insane on him like Claire did.
Lucas Adams Remains Pragmatic
With Tripp leaving town for the second time, Lucas Adams is leaving Days of Our Lives for the second time, but is realistic about the situation.
“I was definitely more prepared for it,” Adams told Soap Opera Digest. “I didn’t know where my character was going, especially when [the triangle] was over. Tripp was mostly a third wheel, so it totally made sense, storyline-wise. But it did surprise me as we had just had that whole storyline of Tripp dying and being brought back.”
Yes, it does seem a little odd to write Tripp off after all that, but that always means there’s room for him to return one day. After all, between Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun), he has plenty of family to come home to in Salem, so we’re sure we’ll see Tripp again one day.
Stay tuned to Days of Our Lives weekdays to see Tripp off.
