Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Will Abby Really Lose Her Head?

Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, the social media world wrote off Marci Miller’s Abigail DiMera months ago, declaring she will be killed off a major murder mystery to kick off the summer months. Next week, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) makes a horrifying discovery and it looks like that discovery will be his wife’s dead body. But will that body have a head?

Yes, rumor has it Abigail will be beheaded, which is something General Hospital did with minor character Nurse Mary Pat (Patricia Bethune) a few years back as Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) found her head while bobbing for apples. However, a major character beheading is not the norm for soaps.

If you ask how to bring a character back from a decapitation, only Whoopi Goldberg’s character in Soap Dish knows how to do that. Maybe. Perhaps DOOL head writer Ron Carlivati doesn’t intend for this beheading to be permanent, but that would be quite a feat to have Abby return from the dead if she doesn’t have a head.

Will Abby Really Meet Her Maker At All?

Perhaps all the rumors are wrong and Abby won’t really die, but Salemites will think she died. After all, Cady McClain claimed to be back on a soap set months ago, so maybe she will be the Jennifer to mourn Abigail if Melissa Reeves couldn’t make an appearance. But if Abigail isn’t really dead, then who is she mourning?

Let us not forget that DOOL is the soap of a thousand masks and anyone can become anyone else thanks to Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Will Utay) making it so. Of course, if people just decide Abigail is dead just because the person who died looks like Abigail, that wouldn’t be very smart in a town where nobody is ever who they seem to be.

If Abigail is dead, that would be the end of an era for one of the soap’s most popular couples over the last decade. Whether played by Miller or Kate Mansi, Abigail’s pairing with Chad has had viewers tuning in for years. Now that they finally found true happiness, it’s time to take that away, right?
