Unfortunately for Days of Our Lives fans, it seems that Days is the only soap that isn’t airing an episode on Memorial Day. Instead, fans will be treated to the French Open. Days of Our Lives is usually off the air for the French open every summer and this year is no different.

However, the news gets worse for Days fans. Monday will not be the only day that Days of Our Lives will not be seen this week as the show will be preempted on Thursday, June 2, and Friday, June 3 as well. This is the shortest week of Days of Our Lives in some time. However, fans won’t miss any shows as they will be shown when the show returns the following week. Will fans see Belle Black (Martha Madison) and E.J. Dimera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) kiss this coming week or is that in the near future?

Days Of Our Lives – The Show Must Go On

While Days of Our Lives will be interrupted for the majority of the week, the show tapes about six months ahead. Also an upcoming treat for Days Of Our Lives fans is the streaming miniseries Days of Our Lives – Beyond Salem Chapter Two. Beyond Salem, Chapter Two will stream on Peacock July 11 through 15. Of course, this isn’t going to help fans this week while the show is off the air. Fans can go on Peacock and watch Days of Our Lives Beyond Salem and A Very Salem Christmas while waiting for the new episodes to air around the tennis match.

Days Of Our Lives – Where Did It Begin?

Days of Our Lives premiered on November 8, 1965. Days Of Our Lives is set in Illinois in the fictional city of Salem and primarily focuses on two families, the Brady, and the Horton families. Other families included are also highly represented including the DiMera and Kiriakis families. Suzanne Rogers (Maggie Kiriakis) is the longest-serving member of the program’s current cast and the longest-serving current cast member of an ongoing American soap opera, having appeared on the show since August 1973. (Rogers celebrated 40 years on Days of Our Lives in 2013.)

Susan Seaforth Hayes – the second longest-serving actor currently on the program – is the only cast member to appear on Days of Our Lives in all seven decades it has been on the air, having made her first appearance in December 1968 as a recast of the original character Julie Olson Williams.
