Days of Our Lives (DOOL) Spoilers: Linsey Godfrey Talks About Bipolar Diagnosis

Days of Our Lives Linsey Godfrey says she knew she wasn’t “OK” when she was diagnosed with Borderpolar or Bipolar and Borderline Personality Disorder in 2019. Linsey says it was a big and awful pill to swallow but at least she knew what was wrong.

Days of Our Lives – What Is Borderpolar?

According to Mark Zimmerman, Brown University’s professor of psychiatry and human behavior, “Borderpolar refers to individuals with borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder.” According to Zimmerman, 20 percent of people who have one of these diagnosis has the other as well. Godrey’s experience was characteristic of bipolar II with major depression and hypomania.

Borderline Personality Disorder, which is considered harder to treat, is diagnosed when the patient has five of the nine symptoms associated with the disorder. These symptoms include unstable mood with sudden shifts, significant ups and downs in relationships, feelings of emptiness and worthlessness, difficulties regulating temper and impulsiveness — are present. Godfrey says she has all nine.

Days of Our Lives Linsey wants to reduce the stigma of mental illness now that she is happy and healthy. Linsey credits her good health to medication, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a strong network of friends and family. Linsey announced her diagnosis on social media last year. Linsey was thrilled with this comment on her post. “It was nerve-racking, and I genuinely thought I would never work again,” Linsey posted. “[But] as soon as I did it, someone commented, ‘Thank you.’ It was worth it to know that one person went, ‘Oh my God. It’s not just me.’ ”Mental illness doesn’t discriminate,” Linsey says. “It doesn’t care who you are, or what family you were born into, or what your experiences were. The more we talk about it, the less alone everybody would feel.”

Days of Our Lives – Sarah Horton Is Back

Days of Our Lives Sarah Horton (Linsey Arnold) is back but she is certainly not herself. Sarah thinks she is Renee Dumonde (ex-Philece Sampler) and is in love with Tony Dimera (Thaao Penghlis). However, Sarah was in love with Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) when she was kidnapped. Sarah’s love for Xander hasn’t gone away. Sarah needs to regain her memories and come back to her loved one. Will the real Sarah return now that Linsey is back on Days of Our Lives?

It is nice to have Linsey back and fans are excited to see how this storyline plays out. We are happy that Linsey is doing better and hope to see much more of her now that she has her mental health under control.
