Days of Our Lives Star Melissa Reeves Becomes A Grandma Again

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal Melissa Reeves as the return of Jennifer Horton just in time for Christmas, but the actress just got a great gift early.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: A New Grandchild For Melissa Reeves

Melissa and Scott Reeves’ daughter, Emily Reeves Smith, gave birth to her second baby on Friday, October 15. Wyatt Scott Smith was born at 8:08 pm and weighed in at 8 lbs, 15 oz. Reeves posted about her third grandchild on Instagram on Saturday.

“Wyatt Scott Smith is here💙💙💙💙 this little guy was born at 8:08pm. Weighing in at 8lbs 15 oz!!!!!!! 21” long! We are all so in love💙 thank you all for your lovely words and prayers for our children. Our hearts are so full and grateful 🙏🏻💙 papaG and I now have the three musketeers and we are ecstatic!!!!”

This is the third grandchild for Missy Reeves and Scott Reeves in a little under two years. Soap fans will remember that Scott played Ryan McNeil on The Young and the Restless and Steven Webber, Elizabeth’s older brother, on General Hospital.

Melissa Reeves Returning to Salem

When DOOL returned from the COVID-19 hiatus after all soaps shut down production in 2020, Reeves chose not to reprise the role of Jennifer because she wanted to stay home in Tennessee and be with her new grandchildren. Cady McClain took over the role of Jennifer for several months and then left town to deal with Laura Horton’s (Jaime Lynn Bauer) will, as her mother suddenly died during a fight with Gwen (Emily O’Brien). Laura must have had some estate because Jennifer has yet to return, but she will in time for the holidays.

Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that Jennifer will return to town to put her ornament on the Hoton Christmas tree, but it will be a brief comeback as Jennifer asks Jack to leave Salem with her, marking the end of Matthew Ashford’s current run on the soap. At least Jack won’t be presumed dead this time.

A brief Salem run allowed Reeves to film her scenes to wrap up Jennifer’s story and then return to Tennessee so she could be with her children and grandchildren. Stay tuned to Days of Our Lives at Christmas to see Jack and Jennifer bid farewell.
