Days of Our Lives (DOOL) Spoilers: Humanizing EJ DiMera, Dan Feuerriegel Teases What’s Next for Villain

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that EJ DIMera (Dan Feuerriegel) kicked Sami DiMera (Alison Sweeney) to the curb without a second thought. Meanwhile, he is getting into fistfights and raging at a lot of people, including his own son. While he seems to be spiraling out of control, he will soon go through a shift. The actor teases that fans will see a more human side to EJ.

Kicking Sami DiMera Out

DOOL spoilers reveal that Sami tried to keep her affair with Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) a secret from her husband. Despite not having much of a marriage, Sami still loved EJ and was determined to find a way to make it work. Then, EJ came to Salem unexpectedly and promised to make things right. EJ kept his promise and Sami found herself falling in love with her husband all over again.

Just when things were going well for “Ejami,” the truth came out in an unexpected way. When Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) gave Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) letter to EJ, Sami was kicked to the curb… and out of the DiMera mansion.

DOOL Spoilers: Rage and Frustration

Ever since then, EJ’s rage and frustration have gotten worse. It seems that Sami, or maybe love, kept EJ from becoming too much of a villain. EJ’s behavior will get worse as he continues to get in fights and tries to overcome obstacles. EJ has already gotten into heated arguments with Lucas and this will continue. Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) was also beaten to a bloody pulp.

However, EJ’s behavior isn’t just targeted toward his rivals and enemies, though. It is affecting his own family and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) won’t be the only one on the receiving end. Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) is next on EJ’s list.

Romancing Nicole Walker

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that EJ is going to ask Nicole out on a date. EJ does find out that Nicole has feelings for Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). Under normal circumstances, it would just be like EJ to use someone in order to accomplish a bigger goal, such as getting the million dollars that the police are holding in evidence. However, it seems that EJ’s feelings for Nicole are actually genuine.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Feuerriegel explained EJ asking Nicole out and how the villain really feels about Sami. It appears that fans are going to see a more human side to EJ.

“EJ is trying to move on. Sami’s gone, she said she wanted to get back together with him, she wasn’t going to leave, but then in his mind, she left…”

It sounds like EJ’s brutal spiral is due to heartbreak, not evil. The actor continued,

“… he’s hurting, so I think he does want to reach out for help. I think there’s also that element of, ‘Okay, if I’m with Nicole and Sami finds out, maybe she’ll get jealous and come back.’ So there are a variety of reasons for it. It’s a nice blend that makes him more human…”
