Days of Our Lives (DOOL) Spoilers tease that the devil is back in Salem. And he found the most unexpected way in… through Doug Williams (Bill Hayes). As viewers know, Doug recently locked his wife, Julie Williams (Susan Seathford Hayes) in the deep freezer at Julie’s Place. Julie was rescued but no one could understand why Doug was acting so strangely.

Fearing dementia or Alzheimer’s, Julie took Doug to University Hospital. Medical tests didn’t reveal anything out of the ordinary but when Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) decided to talk with Doug, a bizarre truth was revealed!

Doug revealed to an astonished Marlena that he meant to lock Julie in the freezer, but that wasn’t all, Doug revealed that he was really the devil and he had come back for Marlena. This likely means that Doug is just a conduit and it’s Marlena who will end up possessed.

But what will the whole experience do to Doug? Both physically and psychologically, the potential harm to Doug is off the charts! Doug isn’t a young man anymore, and this type of things might cause long-lasting effects.

The doctors and nurses at University Hospital are amazing but even they have their limits. And none of the current medical team have had to deal with anything like demonic possession. Doug could become comatose for weeks, or even months, as his body attempts to recover from this horrific event. But it’s Doug’s mind that may suffer the most. Things like dementia are common for someone Doug’s age. And his mind may not be equipped to handle the trauma of a possession.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers – Doug Williams will need the love and support of his family!

One thing that is in Doug’s favor is that he has a family that loves him. Doug’s wife Julie will move heaven and earth to help Doug through anything, even demonic possession. And even though he may be mentally scarred, her love for her husband may be exactly what’s needed to restore Doug back to health. It’s certainly going to be a dark time in Salem, and hopefully love and compassion will win over anything the devil can throw at its residents!
