New Days of Our Lives (DOOL) Spoilers: Sal Stowers Can Barely Believe Lani’s Shocking Fate

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal a heartbroken Lani Price Grant — sometime in the near future when she learns her true parentage is revealed. And it looks like actress Sal Stowers is just as heartbroken for the same reason.

Days of Our Live Spoilers: A Maternity And Paternity U-Turn

Right now, Lani is happily part of the Carver family, the Grant Family, the Horton Family, and her own family and is happily surrounded by all the people she loves. She was already told of a new father in her life as an adult once, and it looks like it’s about to happen again. It turns out Paulina is her mother and her father was Paulina’s (Jackee Harry) abusive ex. Lani will feel like a woman without a past, without the truth, and without an identity. And Stowers doesn’t like it at all.

“It’s weird. I kind of knew it was coming. They didn’t tell me for a while, but something just wasn’t clicking,” Stowers told Soap Hub. “When I found out she was going to be my mother my heart sank. The first thing I thought was, ‘Oh no! Abe’s not going to be Lani’s father.’ And everybody knows I have this crazy ridiculous connection with James Reynolds.”

Where Are Lani’s Roots Now?

When Lani was first introduced to the scene, she arrived just in time for a Salem celebration and the 50th anniversary of the soap being on the air in 2015. She announced she was Abe’s daughter, a result of his relationship with Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo) way back in the 1980s. Lani was quickly accepted into the family and has been calling Abe “Dad” for years. Now, that whole identity is changing and Stowers is keenly aware of what a difference it can mean for Lani on the Salem canvas.

“I was brought onto the show to play [Abe’s] daughter. That was the whole reason my character was brought to Salem. So, for me, it didn’t make any sense at first. I was deeply saddened because I love Lani being Abe’s daughter and everything they’ve worked through,” Stowers told Soap Hub. “Also, I think so highly of James Reynolds.

He’s such a legend. He’s worked so hard in the industry. I’m there to lift him up, to add value to his stories, and to create with him. I didn’t want anything to be taken away from him…I was absolutely heartbroken. My feelings were just like, ‘Wait. No. I don’t want this to happen. I don’t like it.’”
