Days of Our Lives (DOOL) Spoilers: Is Bill Hayes Leaving? Doug Williams In Crisis, Julie Can’t Face Tragic Truth
Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for the week of September 6 reveal Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) will become concerned about Doug Williams (Bill Hayes). It is confirmed that Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) will be in denial for a while, though. So, what exactly is going on with Doug and does this mean the character is being written out of the NBC soap?
Doug Williams Health Crisis
DOOL spoilers reveal that Doug and Julie don’t appear in scenes as often as the real-life couple used to. For the past year, we have seen Julie a handful of times, but only see Doug once in a blue moon. It is confirmed by Soap Opera Digest that Doug will be the center of a new storyline, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the character will appear on-screen. Doug goes missing duriing the week of September 6, so it’s possible that he is only mentioned and not seen on-screen.
There are hints that Doug will face a health crisis and it’s possible that fans could be seeing the character’s exit story.
DOOL Spoilers: Julie Williams in Denial
It is stated that while some people are concerned about Doug, Julie refuses to admit that anything is wrong. Doug and Julie are one couple that has actually stayed together. They have survived and overcome a lot over the years. Julie adores and loves her husband, so it’s understandable that she wouldn’t want to face losing him.
Roman Brady’s Observation
Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that the story seems to kick off on Tuesday, September 7. That is when Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) will become concerned about Doug’s mental state. On Friday, September 10, it is stated that Julie is in denial about Doug’s “problem.” On that same day, Roman tries to find Doug, indicating that he goes missing.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Is Bill Hayes Leaving?
Doug having a “problem” and Roman worrying about the character’s mental state could mean anything. However, fans need to consider Hayes’ age. The actor was born in June 1925, which means he just turned 96. There haven’t been any confirmed reports on the actor’s health. However, the last time we saw Doug on-screen, he exhibited slower speech, physical movement and cognitive ability. It doesn’t mean anything is “wrong,” but does suggest his health is declining.
The soap might be writing Doug out, just as they did with Caroline Brady (Peggy McCay). We might see a similar exit storyline with Doug, perhaps Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. It would explain why Roman is so concerned, Julie not wanting to face reality and Doug going missing. While Hayes exit has not been confirmed, it wouldn’t come as a total shock. We will have to keep watching to find out the details of Doug and Julie’s new story.
