Days of our Lives (DOOL) Spoilers: Dan Feuerriegel Spills the Dirt About Becoming EJ DiMera

Days of our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Australian actor Dan Feuerriegel has won over the audience with his portrayal of powerful and enigmatic EJ DiMera.

The role was vacant for years before he came along and breathed life into the scheming scion of the Salem DiMera family. The character is also married to legendary core character Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) and as such Dan has been front and center on the canvas.

Days of our Lives spoilers: Dan Feuerriegel Is Talking About His Salem Character

One thing that has remained on the set even though patriarch Stefano is gone is his larger-than-life portrait. It is still a character in its own right as the other characters regularly talk to the late schemer.

According to Dan, “Every time I had to look up at the portrait, they were explaining, ‘This is what it is. This is what he used to do. And you used to [respond] like this.”

“It’s a constant kind of historical review. Sometimes I’ll say something, and Ali will be like, ‘No, it was this.’ There’s been so much history with a lot of the characters. They just let me know that Stefano means a great deal to EJ, and he does not want to let him down. That’s the primary motivating factor.”

He added, “Every time you’re in the DiMera mansion, you just look up and you’re like, There he is. There he is watching down on us. It kind of gives you that [feeling of], All right, this is what I’m doing. You can use it in scenes.”

He went on to say, “If you’re talking about him, you can look up, put your arm up and kind of point toward it. It’s a nice little reminder of the history of the show and the character. You can bring that history into it every time you refer to it.”

Days of our Lives spoilers: What Happens Next in Salem?

Dan has definitely nailed the character’s motivation and just as he discovers an important fact about his wife, the show is suspended for two weeks due to the network’s broadcast of the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

On Thursday, July 22 DOOL aired an epic cliffhanger episode, one that will surely keep fans intrigued until the show returns in two weeks. We don’t want to give away too much in case you haven’t seen it yet, but we can tell you that Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) spilled the beans about Sami to a stunned EJ!
