Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) Spoilers: Beyond Salem Gets Wild – Men In Drag, Furries, Swamp Girl Nod And Bond Reference

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers confirm that a new spin-off is headed to Peacock. Titled Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, casting notices tease interesting extras and at least one body double. Expect men in drag, cat costumes, Oddjob lookalike (Goldfinger), a real gay couple and lots of pool party guests. Plus, head writer Ron Carlivati hinted there might be a nod to Swamp Girl.

DOOL spoilers reveal that over the years, the soap had a few episodes that aired during primetime hours in the early 90s. There was also the launch of the official DOOL app complete with DOOLmojis. Fans used the app to watch the companion series, which included “Chad & Abby in Paris” and “Last Blast Reunion.” The app seems to have been abandoned as the last weekly previews were posted over a year ago. Peacock is now being heavily promoted, which is the streaming home for Beyond Salem.

Major Investment In Beyond Salem

The new spin-off is “coming soon” but no date or estimate has been provided. It contains five episodes but if it does well, there could be additional storylines or more spin-offs. TPTB seem to be investing a lot of money in this new venture as several DOOL stars are part of the story. Plus, there will be several “beloved returns”, one of which is Billie Reed (Lisa Rinna).

DOOL Spoilers: Casting Notices

Casting notices don’t state if the roles are for the soap or the spin-off. However, there are clues that certain ones are actually for Beyond Salem. The character descriptions are not as conservative as they would be for the daytime TV show. Plus, the casting notices confirmed that filming would begin this week. We know that the soap has an extended production schedule. It makes no sense to air pool party scenes during winter. So, these notices must be for Beyond Salem.

As for the interesting roles that were teased, expect to see multiple drag queens for “fun party scenes.” The production needed a caucasian brunette to be a body double. It was noted that the actress would need to wear a cat costume. The spin-off also held auditions for a male gay couple from 28 to 38 years old. Requirements were that the couple be in excellent physical shape, be attractive and there was a special emphasis on needing the couple to actually be together in real life.

A casting call for pool party guests indicates that there will be several extras. The only requirements were to be comfortable in and look good wearing swimsuits. There was an age range but it had about a 20-year span. Casting notices also called for upscale male guards and a Harold Sakata lookalike. The actor portrayed Oddjob in Goldfinger, one of the James Bond movies.

Days Of Our Lives: Beyond Salem Casting

Fans can expect to see Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), John Black (Drake Hogestyn), Abe Carver (James Reynolds), Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and Lani Price Grant (Sal Stowers). Other stars from the NBC soap appearing in the spin-off include Jackée Harry (Paulina Price), Victoria Konefal (Ciara Brady), Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Weston) and Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera).

A rep for Peacock confirmed to TV Line that additional beloved characters will make appearances in the new spin-off. Head writer Ron Carlivati mentioned to a fan on Twitter that there might be a nod to Swamp Girl.
