Big Brother Alum Christmas Abbott Engaged to Memphis Garrett
Big Brother alums Memphis Garrett and Christmas Abbott met on the set of BB: All Stars while filming season 22 of the show last summer. The two may not have walked away with the grand prize, but it wasn’t entirely a waste of time, as they actually won each other’s hearts.
Memphis Garrett and Christmas Abbott’s Love Story
The Garrett Group CEO recently announced his engagement to fellow Big Brother star Christmas Abbott on Friday. E! News confirmed last year that Christmas Abbott, 39, and Memphis Garrett, 38, were seeing each other just two months after they competed against each on Big Brother: All Stars. They admitted then that their relationship first blossomed when they were filming the show.
Now, they’re ready to move on to the next stage of their lives, and Memphis Garrett couldn’t be happier that his offer for marriage was well received.
On Wednesday, June 23, Garrett popped the question during their vacation in Florida.
“I was 100 percent surprised! He’s so great at making me feel like I’m the most special person in the world every day, and this day was the most of all,” Abbott, a fitness entrepreneur and author, shared with E! “I had no idea it was going to happen then. I know, a beautiful island, sunset at a beautiful resort … who wouldn’t have guessed? I didn’t’! That’s because that’s the kind of thing he does regularly to show me how special he believes I am.”
The “Mornings With Memphis” host also detailed his search for the perfect ring to pop the question with.
“[The jeweler] and I reviewed so many diamonds until I found the perfect one for Christmas,” he told E! “Before I even met Christmas, I felt a cosmic attraction to her. Once we spent 24/7 together for three months, I knew she was the one that I would spend the rest of my life with. I knew I found my twin flame.”
When the couple met, they were both dating other people, but their fellow cast mates who knew about their romance were excited for them.
“Each of our relationships were only a few months starting in March [of 2020]” Abbott shared. “Nothing long-term for each of us. No one was inappropriate.”
“I knew around week six in the house that there was something about her I would not be able to ignore,” he said in December 2020. “We both had to respectfully take care of situations we were in and needed some time. That time apart made me realize I couldn’t be without her.”
Garrett and Abbott’s Engagement Announcement
“She said yes!! I love this woman unconditionally and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her. #final2forever,” Garrett captioned a series of engagement pictures on a beach vacation at Little Palm Island Resort & Spa.
Abbott shared similar pictures, giving a shout-out to the CBS series for putting her and her now-fiancé in the same house.
“We knew we would love each other forever. I’m just so excited to officially say YES!!!” the fitness gurus began, also adding #Final2forever.
“Im still in SHOCK bc I had no idea this was coming but I’m so glad it did. @memphisgarrett you are my home, my forever. 🙏,” she continued. The star then expressed her gratitude to the show that placed she and fiancé Garrett in the same house, thereby igniting their love story.
“THANK YOU to @bigbrothercbs for throwing our crazy butts in a house for 3 months! You knew we would fall in L❤️VE!!!!!!”
Fellow Big Brother alums, including Tyler Crispen, Tommy Bracco, Fessy Shafaat, Paulie Calafiore, Josh Martinez, and many more, congratulated the couple on their engagement.
