DOOL Spoilers: Comic Storyline Not All Laughs
Even though the storyline was intended to bring some comic relief to the recent serious plots, it was really hard for Dattilo. He explained to Soap Opera Digest that the storyline wasn’t all laughs for him. Even though he was hired to play a part and he did it to the best of his ability, the lines did get blurred a bit because of news that just hit his family. It turns out that Dattilo’s personal and professional lives would collide.
Bryan Dattilo’s Wife Diagnosed With Cancer
Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that while filming the brain tumor storyline, Dattilo’s family was dealing with their own cancer story. Dattilo’s wife received a breast cancer diagnosis.
“I remember that being really hard to play for me, personally, because in real life, I had just found out that my wife has breast cancer and I had to play a brain tumor cancer. So all of this cancer stuff, just at that specific time for me, a week into it, I don’t feel like I was playing the fun in it enough because there were some serious undertones for me.”
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Worried About ‘Cheating’ Story
Anyone would understand Dattilo having a difficult time with this type of storyline, especially with the timing of the diagnosis. However, Dattilo did the best he could, just like he always does. He added,
“In the beginning, I feel like I had a really good time with it; I just hope I didn’t cheat it by having too much personal stuff mute the humor in it. It was great that they would even go there.”
Dattilo is an excellent actor and viewers would never have guessed that he was going through such a heavy time in his personal life. We send our wishes and prayers to Dattilo’s entire family.
