Days of Our Lives (DOOL) Spoilers: Bryan Datillo Says His New Storyline Hits Close To Home

Days of Our Lives spoilers say that if there’s one person who knows all too well just how expected the unexpected in life can be, it’s most certainly Bryan R. Datillo (Lucas Horton). The actor says that while he is certainly enjoying the comical aspects of his most recent storyline, in which he is lying to Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) about his brain tumor, some aspects of this story does hit close to him. Here’s what he has to say.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Bryan R. Datillo Says His New Storyline Hits Close To Home

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Bryan says that he applauds his co-star Nadia Bjorlin for playing this storyline so well as it looks like Chloe really doesn’t know what is going on with Lucas. He says, “She sells it so well on her and as a believer and being sympathetic, the whole thing is hilarious because of the way she’s playing it.”

But Bryan says that while he is enjoying the laughs, this storyline has been hard for him to play for very personal reasons. That’s because in real life he found out that his wife had breast cancer while on the small screen he was playing as though his character had brain tumor cancer. For Bryan, it was all about trying to balance what he was going through personally while bringing out the emotions for his character without having to get too emotional himself.

He continued, “So all of this cancer stuff, just at that specific time for me, a week into it, I don’t feel like I was playing the fun in it enough because there were some serious undertones for me. In the beginning, I feel like I had a really good time with it; I just hope I didn’t cheat it by having too much personal stuff mute the humor in it. It was great that they would even go there.”
