Royal Family News: Prince Charles Having Marriage Challenges Along With Father’s Loss?
British Royal family news reveals when Prince Philips died at age 99 on April 9, he left behind his wife Queen Elizabeth II, who had leaned on him throughout their 65-year marriage. But within hours, the royal couple’s son Prince Charles quickly rushed to be by his mother’s side.
Learn more about why this time is so important for Charles as he mourns the loss of his father, seeks to support his mother, and faces rumors about his marriage to Camilla Parker Bowles.
Prince Charles: A Challenging Time
While Elizabeth faces the loss of her beloved husband, Charles must deal with the need to support his mother while mourning the loss of his father. The Prince of Wales’ Instagram showed his love for Prince Philip with a video.
Charles, who is Queen Elizabeth II’s oldest son and therefore the heir apparent to the British throne, reflected on his father’s life in an interview with the BBC. The British news service also interviewed other members of the royal family.
“[Philip’s] energy was astonishing in supporting my mama, and doing it for such a long time,” said Prince Charles.
The other children of Philip and Elizabeth joined in praising their father. Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, noted that he had “always been there as that rock in the Queen’s life.”
But it was Prince Andrew who expressed what Charles and the other siblings would miss about their father after his death: His love for his children.
“In the evening – just the same as any other family – we would get together, we would sit on the sofa as a group and he would read to us,” recalled Andrew.
As for his father’s legacy, Charles summed it up: “I think he’ll probably want to be remembered as an individual in his own right.”
Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth had four children: One daughter, Princess Anne, and three sons, Prince Charles, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. Also mourning the loss are the couple’s eight grandchildren, who include Prince Harry and Prince William. The couple had 10 great-grandchildren, ranging from Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and Archie to Princess Eugenie’s baby, August.
Prince Charles: Marriage Challenges Along With Father’s Loss?
Even as Charles seeks to support his mother Queen Elizabeth while mourning the loss of his father, he allegedly is facing problems in his marriage to Camilla Parker Bowles.
The claims that Charles and Camilla are facing a potential visit to divorce court were sparked by OK magazine, which headlined the rumors: ““Marriage in crisis.”
The publication’s supposed insiders called it an “open secret [that Charles and Camilla have] been getting on each other’s nerves as of late.” As for specifics, the sources alleged that Charles “started to find his wife’s allegedly controlling tendencies and strong taste for the limelight irritating,” while Parker Bowles became “tired of Charles’ cranky behavior.”
While the tabloids make money on such allegations, none of these rumors are true, according to Gossip Cop. The couple is, according to the publication, “happily wed and not power-hungry gremlins like the tabloids illustrate them to be.”
