Is Whitney Thore’s My Big Fat Fabulous Life cancelled?  In recent times, there has been a sharp rise in the number of reality TV shows to keep fans occupied, and with the competition, you’d have to stay on top of your game to be able to keep your show going.

Some last for as long as fifteen years, others could end with as little as a handful of episodes, while some don’t even make it out of production. As for the reality TV show My Big Fat Fabulous Life, it’s been around for eight seasons, but now fans are afraid it might not get a ninth season.

The reality show My Big Fat Fabulous Life is about Whitney Way Thore, a girl with a dream to be a dancer, until she gained massive weight due to a medical condition. But she did not let that stop her from being a dancer, and she’s even got some moves. She really dances with so much energy I personally don’t know if I can keep up.

The TLC show premiered on 13 January, 2015 and Whitney Thore, a woman who weighs around 380 pounds, brought her story to the world. There’s criticism, there always will be, especially since we’re living in a world where people, women mostly, are judged by their sizes.

Whitney’s not just a dancer, but she’s also opened up a dance class for big girls like her who have the same dreams but feel weighed down by their size limitations. Apart from her dance life and classes, her personal life is also brought into view, exploring her relationships with her family, friends, and her boyfriend.

For almost a decade the My Big Fat Fabulous Life audience watched as the protagonist battled with every circumstance that came her way. The latest season sees her ex-fiancé cheating on her and leaving her for the girl he impregnated, and then there’s another surprise appearing in the form of her ex-boyfriend Lennie Alehat. She struggled with panic attacks when she found out that Chase is having a baby with another woman.

In the latest episode, Whitney considers getting weight loss surgery but wants to absolutely make sure she knows the risks associated with the procedure.

Lovers and Cheaters

My Big Fat Fabulous Life has not been devoid of its dramas and shocking moments, especially with Thore’s romantic life. She’s been involved with her closest friend Buddy Bell, later moving on with Lennie, Avi Lang, and once had a fling with a guy she met online.

In 2018, Thore met her now ex-fiancé Chase Severino through her business partner Ryan Andreas. The couple’s relationship moved swiftly and in October, Severino asked her to marry him at the top of the Eiffel Tower in 2019.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans, though happy for her, smelled something fishy with the whole romance between them. A few fans observed that the two never showed any intimacy and that Severino proposed too early. Severino winded up cheating on her and impregnating another girl in the process, and this resulted in their relationship being dissolved.

Though she expressed her sadness to see their relationship end, she also wished him a happy home and that his child will be born safely.

Thore can make anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 per episode of her reality show, and currently has a net worth of $4 million, made through her business deals, brand partnerships, and her show.
