Southern Charm Kathryn Dennis Has Temporarily Lost Custody of Her Kids with Thomas Ravenel

It was recently announced that Kathryn Dennis, the star of Southern Charm, has temporarily lost custody of her kids, in a public statement issued by Thomas Ravenel’s attorney, Kathryn Dennis is now only allowed to make supervised visitations on weekends in order to see her kids.

Southern Charm Spoilers – The Long and Messy Legal Battle

Following the filing of a temporary custody order on Feb. 25, Kathryn Dennis has lost custody of her two children with Thomas Ravenel.

It’s probably been a long year for the ex-couple as they repeatedly engaged in a legal battle for the custody of their two kids, daughter, Kensington, who is 6-years-old, and their 4-year old son, Saint.

The couple called it quits in 2016 after a tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship. Dennis said that it was truly over when she talked about the split to The Daily Dish, saying that she suddenly realized that she loved her kids more than what she felt for Thomas romantically, and knew that it was time to go. She also revealed that co-parenting with her ex, with whom she starred in The Southern Charm with, has been hard, but that she hadn’t given up hope. “I’m confident that we’ll reach a place in time where we can peacefully do that.”

After a lot of back and forth between the couple, with one, Dennis, claiming that another, Ravenel, isn’t paying child support and doesn’t care about anything. She also claimed that she and her kids had gone days without heating and air. Thomas replied back insisting that he has been paying child support, something he said he wasn’t entitled to, and was willing to talk to Dennis on 50/50 custody of their kids, if only she would let him.

There’s also been accusations coming from Ravenel’s end that Dennis should be tested for drug use, a feat Dennis agreed to, saying that she was willing to do the test as long as he pays for it and does one himself.

Dennis first lost full custody of her kids to Ravenel back in 2016 when she entered rehab after testing positive for marijuana. Two years later, in 2018, Dennis filed documents seeking to obtain primary custody of their kids after Ravenel was charged and arrested for assault and battery, four months after his kids’ former nanny accused him of rape.

He pled guilty to the charge and received a 30-day sentence that was suspended in place of a $500 fine and probation in lieu of jail time. In October 2019, Ravenel and the nanny reached a $125,000 settlement, with Ravenel to pay $45,000 in her personal legal fees and give an additional $80,000 to a local nonprofit that aids adult survivors of sexual assault.

Southern Charm Updates – Moving on from the relationship

Kathryn Dennis is currently dating Chleb Ravenell, and she has recently revealed her plans to have more kids with Chleb, “I really do want more kids, and my family isn’t done being built.” She also revealed that while she and Chleb haven’t talked about the word ‘marriage’, they have talked about being in a long-term relationship, which she agrees is longer than what she had with any of her exes.

Thomas Ravenel is also the father of Jonathan, 8 months, with ex-girlfriend Heather Mascoe.
