British Royal family news reveals ever since Oprah Winfrey revealed her upcoming interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the gossip mill has been churning out all types of rumors about the contents of the two-hour special. With just a few days to go before Oprah’s interview airs, CBS is adding to the anticipation with a sneak peek promo video.
In the ongoing battle between the royal family on one side and Meghan and Harry on the other, Oprah seeks to avoid offending either side. Winfrey is seen in the preview questioning Markle about how she believes the royal family will react to her interview.
“I don’t know how they could expect that after all of this time we would still just be silent if there is an active role that the firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us,” said Meghan. “And if that comes with risk of losing things, there is a lot that has been lost already.”
That mention of “falsehoods” from The Firm (that term is used in the United Kingdom to refer to the Royal Family) may reference the claims that Markle bullied staff before she and Harry left the U.K.
And what the previews thus far reveal: Meghan believes that she and Harry have been mistreated by both the media and the Royal Family.
Oprah Winfrey to Meghan Markle: ‘Shocking’
Oprah’s magazine also offered some clues to what we can expect in the two-hour interview, which is scheduled to air from 8 PM-10 PM Sunday, March 7 on CBS. During Winfrey’s interview with Meghan and Harry, Markle said “some pretty shocking things here,” pointed out Oprah.
As for the nature of those “shocking things,” Meghan summed up her experience in England with Harry as “almost unsurvivable.” And Oprah doesn’t hesitate to question why Meghan never addressed the alleged problems while she was still in the United Kingdom.
“Were you silent or, were you silenced?” asked Winfrey bluntly.

But it’s not just Meghan dropping bombshells. Prince Harry recalls how his mother, Princess Diana, experienced her own struggles with the Royal Family throughout and after her divorce from Prince Charles.
“I can’t imagine what it must have been like for [my mother] going through this process by herself all those years ago. It has been unbelievably tough for her…but at least we have each other,” said Harry about his love for Meghan.
And then Harry revealed a startling insight into why he had been so willing to leave the Royal Family and his homeland. He shared that he feared that “history” was “repeating itself,” presumably talking about his mother’s horrifying death. Prince Harry indicated he feared that Meghan might suffer the same tragic fate.
Oprah Winfrey Interview With Meghan and Harry ‘Best’ Ever
Oprah’s best friend, Gayle King, also offered a hint of what to expect during the interview. King shared that Winfrey called her show with Meghan and Harry “the best interview” she has ever conducted.
Held in Santa Barbara, California, the interview will include Meghan and Harry going into detail about why they stepped back from their responsibilities as members of the British royal family. They may discuss what has happened since that startling announcement, including their plans for the future.
The show will take place in two sections. During the first part, Oprah and Meghan will chat one-on-one about what it was like to go from an American actress to a member of the Royal Family and a mom. Prince Harry will then join them to offer his views of what happened and the future.
Harry also will reveal why he is “relieved and happy” to be interviewed by Oprah with Meghan by his side. So will there be any surprises? Given that it’s the Queen of Interviews, Oprah Winfrey, we’re betting the answer is a royal yes!
