This Is Us Season 5 Spoilers: New Episodes Pushed Back 2 Weeks Due To ‘Catastrophic Surge’ Of COVID-19 Cases
This Is Us season 5 spoilers reveal that we did not see a new episode on Tuesday night, which we previously warned fans about last week. However, no reason was given at the time. New information not only explains why we are being forced to wait, but there will not be a new episode next week either. The “catastrophic surge” in COVID-19 cases is the reason for the delay, the creator confirms.
This Is Us Spoilers – Delay Will Be At Least 2 Weeks
This Is Us season 5 spoilers reveal that last week we reported that there would not be a new episode of the NBC series on Tuesday, January 19. At that time it was not known if it was due to COVID-19, the pre-inauguration coverage or for another reason. Now we have new information and it seems the delay is going to be for at least two weeks. That means there won’t be a new episode next Tuesday either.
Explanation Given For No New Episodes
This Is Us season 5 spoilers reveal that creator Dan Fogelman posted an update on Twitter. He explained why the delay in new episodes, especially after the huge reveal about Randall Pearson’s (Sterling K. Brown) birth mother. It was a heavy and emotional episode. The next few episodes are said to be really big and Fogelman urged viewers to hang in there.
“No new episode of #ThisIsUs tonight – Covid-related production delays in LA have forced us to delay a few weeks. But the next few are big ones, and we are close, so we hope you’ll hang in there with us. Sorry!”
This Is Us Season 5 Spoilers: Back In 2 Weeks
The official Twitter account for the series also posted an update and suggested everyone catch up on the NBC app. It was reported that they will be back in two weeks, but keep in mind that COVID-19 is always changing, so don’t be surprised if we end up waiting longer than that.

‘Catastrophic Surge’ In COVID-19 Cases
The Los Angeles Times reported that in L.A., there is a “catastrophic surge” of COVID-19 cases. At the time of the report, there were more than 1 million cases in Los Angeles. The state of California has already surpassed 3 million cases. Studios are currently permitted to film with safety measures in place, but the L.A. County Department of Health urged the entertainment business to “strongly consider pausing work for a few weeks.”
This Is Us should return to NBC on February 2. However, we will keep you updated with information as it becomes available. Let’s hope everyone stays safe and healthy during these uncertain times.
