She would never be able to forgive herself if Eric didn’t go follow his calling simply because of her. There is no word on when — or if — Eric will come back. Well, it seems that Nicole isn’t going to be alone for long. Despite marrying the “love of her life,” Nicole gets involved with a new man.

There are brand new promo shots and some of them feature Nicole and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). The two characters look quite close, cozy, and flirty in the pictures. When they take photos of two characters together, it usually is because they are the next big couple.

Now, we know how much Nicole loves Eric and she was going to wait for him. So, what’s the deal? There is a rumor that Eric actually gets kidnapped and killed while doing good works in the Congo.

Rafe Hernandez Finds Love Again

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that after Rafe returns to Salem, he discovers that Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) is gone. He thought that they were going to pick up where they left off. Head writer Ron Carlivati teased to Soap Opera Digest that Rafe would be headed in a new direction. So, it seems that a brand new romance with Nicole is one of those “new directions.”

Now, soaps are known for having both short-term and long-lasting romances. They only use the money and time to have couples get promo shots together if they plan on keeping them together. So, we have to assume that Rafe and Nicole will have a love that lasts for a good, long while.
