Sister Wives’ Christine shared that she is still dealing with his debt.

Sister Wives Spoilers: Kody Brown’s Kids Were Uninsured

In 2014, there was a time when Truely was without health insurance. We have to assume that at the time, the other children were also without coverage. We’re not sure why and there could be a lot of reasons.

A lapse could be the fault of either Sister Wives Kody Brown or the insurance company, switching policies, late/missing payments or perhaps it was a bad decision on Kody’s part due to his massive money problems. Whatever the reason, the lack of coverage happened at the worst possible time for the family.

Sister Wives 2020 Updates: Truely Brown’s Hospitalization

Sister Wives News: Christine Brown Shares Debt Struggles

Christine shared with her fans that to this day, she is still receiving calls from bill collectors regarding the $450,000 medical bill. Now, we don’t know if Kody and Christine have been proactive about dealing with his massive medical debt. Every hospital has a financial office, who can slash outstanding bills or sometimes write it off completely. The hospitals do not advertise this information — you have to contact them and ask for it.

Typically, you fill out a form and submit financials for the past month or so that reveals your income and family size. Now, we know that the Browns have massive debt, but they also make quite a bit of money. But, considering the Sister Wives family’s size, they might be able to get that bill reduced.

Also, due to the bill being so old, bill collectors will be willing to settle for pennies on the dollar. Whether they have taken this into consideration was not revealed by Sister Wives’ Christine, though.

Sister Wives Fans Slam Brown Family Patriarch

While Christine told the story, fans criticized Kody for not having health insurance and throwing the massive financial burden on Christine. While she has been dealing with the creditors over the $450,000 bill, she also was trying to come up with the down payment for one of her kids needing surgery. She didn’t say which one, but it must be Sister Wives’ Ysabel Brown.

Ysabel Brown has scoliosis and if she needed a down payment, then that indicates the Brown children still don’t have health insurance. She was basically begging fans for help coming up with the down payment of $50,000, but we haven’t seen Kody contributing to either medical debt.

Now, most people would have learned to not go without insurance after a $450,000 hospital bill. But it doesn’t seem that Sister Wives’ Kody Brown has caught on yet. With Ysabel having a pre-existing medical condition, that just makes it that much more irresponsible for Kody to leave his 18 children without any kind of coverage.
