When it comes to multiples, especially if there are several in a family, many people assume that fertility treatments were used. However, this is not the case with the Derricos. Every single pregnancy was conceived naturally. There was no in-vitro fertilization (IVF) with any of Deon and Karen’s pregnancies. So, how did they end up with so many multiples? Science can explain this.

Derrico News: Multiples Run on Both Sides of Family

As most people are aware, the chances of multiples increases if one of the parents has it in their family history. When both parents have multiples in their genes, then the chances go up even more.

We don’t know just how many multiples are in Deon and Karen Derrico’s respective families, but the reality stars probably have the largest number of them. However, that is not the only factor in the large number of multiples in Doubling Down With the Derricos.

When a woman gives birth to twins, triplets, or more, then her chances of having another multiple pregnancy actually increase. However, even the Derricos are breaking records! Now, the older that a woman is, the more likely she is to have multiples, as well. However, Karen is still relatively young. We sum up the couple having many multiples up to a combination of science, luck and for those that believe, God.

In any case, the TLC Go app released the first episode of Doubling Down with the Derricos. It was a pretty good debut that explained a lot. The parents were also quite impressive in how they handled various parenting challenges.
