This one is unique because they are probably the parents of the most multiples and they were all conceived naturally. One of the most commonly asked questions is how much does it cost to raise 14 children? How much does it cost to feed them? The answer is around $3,500 a month.

Doubling Down With the Derricos Premiere Date

The new TLC reality show premieres next week. So, set your DVR and mark your calendar for Tuesday, August 11 at 10 pm ET to watch their big debut. You will meet the parents of the Derrico family: Deon and Karen, who are from Las Vegas. They have a total of 11 children right now with three more on the way. The family is also said to use “extreme parenting” along with a big dose of drama.

Speaking to People magazine, real estate investor Deon Derrico and stay-at-home mom Karen  Derrico broke down how much food and toiletries they go through. Imagine having to buy each week 15 boxes of waffles and 20 rolls of toilet paper?! The reality TV parents explained,

“In a week we go through 15 boxes of waffles, 20 rolls of toilet paper. The amount of money that we spend on groceries, oh my gosh. $2,500-$3,500 a month, easy.”

Derrico Family News: Mornings Compared to Ballet Performance

As one would imagine, breakfast and mornings can get pretty hectic for the cast of Doubling Down With the Derricos. Karen Derrico compares it to a ballet performance and admits it can get pretty chaotic. The TLC personality explained,

“It’s chaotic. We have to constantly be on them: ‘Have a seat, eat your breakfast, let’s get everything together.’ It’s definitely a job when they get down.”

About the TLC Reality TV Family – Doubling Down With The Derrico’s

Both the parents come from families that have multiples, but they have the most sets of multiples that anyone has ever heard of. The couple shares 14 children together, but Karen has given birth to 16 kids. First, there was a daughter, a son, twin boys, quints (two boys and three girls), another set of twin boys and then triplets (two girls and a boy). After the birth of Karen’s oldest child, she had two miscarriages.

“Once I became pregnant, the doctor started me on progesterone to sustain my pregnancy. But all of our children were naturally convinced. Not one round of IVF.”
