Big Brother 2020: Asking Alumni To Return?

According to Us Weekly magazine, CBS has been quietly asking former winners and notable alumni if they would consider coming back to the reality TV show. The long-running series premiered in July 2000, so that’s a long list of names to go through. While they are not contacting everyone, it is reported that a lot of alumni are rejecting the offer. But the reasons are different.

COVID-19 Major Concern For BB22

While alumni have different reasons for saying no, it is reported that one of the excuses for rejecting the offer is due to coronavirus. As fans are well aware, the COVID-19 pandemic seems to be under control. However, it is still out there and no vaccine has been developed successfully yet. This is worrying to former players.

Pandemic Changes Big Brother Season 22

Multiple sources told the publication that negotiations are ongoing. While the virus was given as one reason for not wanting to return, all TV filming is going through changes. There will be safety measures in place to prevent another epidemic. The season will begin later than usual and players will need to quarantine for 14 days before joining the game.

CBS President Squashes Big Brother 2020 Cancelation Fears

There were concerns that the pandemic could force Big Brother to be canceled for 2020. However, last month, CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl told Deadline that is not the case.

“With Love Island and Big Brother, we still hope to have on the air this summer, it could be a little later than usual but we’re still optimistic about getting those on. Those shows turn around pretty quickly, Big Brother has live shows every week and Love Island literally airs the night after it shoots, those shows do not have long post processes.”

CBS has not commented on the possibility of another All-Stars season for 2020. What do you think of former players returning this summer? Is this something you would like to see? If so, who do you want to come back?
