5 Huge Stars You Probably Didn’t Know Appeared On ‘Roseanne’
Roseanne is one of those TV shows that nearly everyone remembers watching during the nine seasons it was broadcast. While there were tons of guest appearances, you probably don’t recall these huge stars who popped up on the long-running television series. Keep reading to find out more!
Bruce Willis On Roseanne TV Show
According to IMDB, Bruce Willis appeared in the episode titled “Dear Mom And Dad” as himself. It aired in 1989. As everyone knows, Willis is a household name, and these days, we only see him in the biggest projects. He’s an A-List celebrity, but many people probably don’t know that he did a brief sting on Roseanne. This is because most people missed it. His cameo appeared during the ending credits.
George Clooney
Before George Clooney was a celebrity name that everyone knew, he had parts on TV. Many people know he was in ER, but he also had a gig in Roseanne. He appeared in the first episode of the series, which premiered in 1988. He portrayed Booker Brooks and stayed on the show until season 4 in the episode titled “Trick Me Up, Trick Me Down.”
Leonardo DiCaprio
When Leonardo DiCaprio was a young boy, he started his acting career by being on TV. In addition to Santa Barbara, Who’s The Boss, and Growing Pains, he snagged a role on Roseanne. In 1991, he appeared in the episode titled “Home Ec.” He is only credited as Darlene Connor’s (Sara Gilbert) classmate.
Ellen DeGeneres
A household name, Ellen DeGeneres also appeared on Roseanne. At the time, she wasn’t as widely known as she is now. But she was recognized for her comedy and sitcom, Ellen. Roseanne was one of the few shows at the time who tackled hot topic issues. It also included gay characters, which was extremely rare in the early 90s. In season 7, Ellen appeared as Dr. Whitman, Jackie Harris (Laurie Metcalf) and Fred Oakland’s (Michael O’Keefe) marriage counselor.
Neil Patrick Harris
One of the most well-known child actors of the 90s, Neil Patrick Harris is probably best remembered as being Doogie Howser, MD. However, he was also on Roseanne. He did a cameo in the episode “Less Is More.” The storyline was about when Roseanne was thinking about breast reduction surgery. When she is under anesthesia, she has a dream that she gets the opposite of what she wanted and her chest is double the size it was before. She demands to see the doctor who did it to her and Doogie Howser shows up.
