Baby Archie Will Be Next Duke of Sussex if THIS Happens
Fans of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry know that one day, little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will grow up and will receive a royal title … whether his mother and father wish him to or not.
In fact, Meghan and Harry have made it abundantly clear to all and sundry that they want to raise Archie as a normal kid. No royal this, no royal that for Archie. No sir. Prince Harry and Meghan intend fully that Archie grow up as any other American child … a peer of the crown.
Royal Family News – Archie Getting A Royal Title Regardless Of What Harry And Meghan Say
Be that as it may, reports indicate that regardless of Harry and Meghan’s intentions, Buckingham Palace intends to bestow on Archie the title of “Duke of Sussex” … but only when Prince Harry is dead. Interestingly, Archie will inherit the title when Harry passes but he, himself, will not be able to pass that title down to his own child one day. The buck, er title, stops with Archie.
That may well be perfectly fine with Archie, however. Considering the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose to leave royal life in Britain and remove themselves across the Atlantic to Los Angeles, it’s been made clear that Harry wants a different sort of life for himself and his family. In fact, Americans may wish to adopt Harry and applaud him for taking a philosophical stand that mirrors that of philosopher Thomas Payne.
Indeed, Harry seems to agree at least in principle with Payne who wrote in his pamphlet, “Common Sense” that, “one of the strongest natural proofs of the folly of hereditary right in kings, is, that nature disapproves it, otherwise, she would not so frequently turn it into ridicule by giving mankind an ass for a lion.”
Harry & Meghan Markle Cutting Royal Family Ties
In keeping with this philosophy, Harry and Meghan agreed to stop using the word “royal” in association with any of their brands. Now, the use of that word could have helped Harry and Meghan quite a lot in terms of brand recognition (and therefore funding). Yet one of Harry’s greatest reasons for quitting The Firm was to establish financial independence for he and his family from the Crown.
More personal for Harry, but clearly a model for Harry’s actions, are Payne’s words when he wrote that, “For all men being originally equals, no one by birth could have the right to set up his own family in perpetual preference to all others forever, and tho’ himself might deserve some decent degree of honours of his cotemporaries, yet his descendants might be far too unworthy to inherit them.”
Will Archie Harrison Be A Royal?
All in all, many fans of Meghan and Harry will agree that there are a lot of reasons for Archie not to make use of any royal titles, inherited or bestowed by Buckingham Palace. Moreover, if Archie is raised in America for the majority of his life then for him, it certainly won’t matter if he is worthy or unworthy to inherit his father’s title.
Regardless, many fans might agree that whatever Archie chooses to do … it won’t truly matter for years to come.
