Camilla Parker-Bowles Very Pleased With Her New Title
Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, 72, has been given a new honor and in talking about it she shared a glimpse into her private life. What is the latest honor Camilla Parker-Bowles has received?
On Wednesday she was declared the new vice-patron of the Royal Academy of Dance and subsequently talked to Strictly Come Dancing judge Dame Darcey Bussell and broadcaster Angela Rippon via video conference.

During the call, dancer Darcy Bussell said, “We are utterly delighted the Duchess is going to be a patron of the Royal Academy of Dance.” A humble Camilla said that she feels honored to receive the patronage.
The future queen consort stated, “It’s no hardship for me because I love dance. I love dancing in any form. It’s a real honor for me to be asked.”
She also described how she and several friends were enjoying weekly Royal Academy of Dance Silver Swans classes for over a year now.
“I’m very, very much a beginner and probably will always remain a beginner. But I do feel after a year of doing it that maybe I’ve improved a tiny bit. Certainly not going to be taking to the stage. I shall keep it in my own home.”

The classes are intended for mature learners, and designed to enhance mobility, posture, coordination and energy levels. The courses are run by instructors trained to safely adapt ballet techniques for learners who are over 55.
“My visit there was so memorable,” Camilla said. “First of all because of the silver swans but actually meeting everybody. It had a wonderful feeling of comradeship and also such a happy place. I think dancing makes you happy.”
Revealing a glimpse into her personal life, Camilla shared a little about how she has been staying fit during the coronavirus pandemic. During the isolation period, she told the others, “I do a combination of a bit of Silver Swans and a bit of pilates and a lot of walking which I love.”
“We’ve all got to keep active. If we don’t we’ll seize up and won’t be able to get out of bed in the morning.”
Camilla most certainly has something to get out of bed for, as she is understood to become the queen consort one day, with Queen Elizabeth reportedly coaching her on her upcoming role.
