Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Stefano’s Desperate Battle – Fights Kayla, Won’t Give Up Steve’s Body

Days of Our Lives Spoilers tease that Stefano DiMera (Stephen Nichols) will be determined to thwart Dr. Kayla Brady’s (Mary Beth Evans) efforts to end his control over Steve Johnson’s (Stephen Nichols) body in an upcoming episode of Days of Our Lives!

Stefano DiMera Naturally Does Not Want To Leave Steve Johnson’s Body Because It Means He Will Die

Stefano naturally does not want to leave Steve’s body, because it means he will die; his original body can be assumed to be dead, since Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) removed Stefano’s “essence” from his original body and implanted it into Steve, in the same manner he turned Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) into Princess Gina Von Amberg (Kristian Alfonso) whom had been dead for many years, but apparently Rolf had a copy of the original control chip on that flash drive.

It can be assumed he has a copy of Stefano’s “essence” as well, even though he did seem quite upset at the thought of removing the chip from Steve’s body when John Black (Drake Hogestyn) forced him into operating on Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) to remove the control chip in her brain. As far as Stefano is concerned though, if his “essence” is removed and he has no host, or living being, to operate through and control, he will die.

However Kayla is determined to restore Steve to himself and it is more important for her that Steve has his life back than it would be giving their life together back, since she has moved on with Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth). Still, Steve is the father of her children and she and he had been married for a long time.

Dr. Kayla Brady Feels Unqualified To Remove the Control Chip

Kayla does feel a bit unqualified to remove the chip on her own, since this is not exactly a simple brain surgery – if the chip is in the same place that it was in Hope, then it is in the brain stem and that is a very complicated procedure; one false move or cut in the wrong place could have disastrous results, Steve could either be paralyzed for life, or he could even die!

She feels, like with Hope’s surgery, that Dr. Rolf would be the most qualified surgeon to remove the chip from Steve. However, Rolf refuses to operate on his “master” who he practically worships! He refuses to operate on Steve because Stefano orders him not to! Days of Our Lives viewers will recall that he had even balked at taking the chip out of Hope until Stefano told him to.

Rolf especially wants to make things right with Stefano, after failing to completely make Marlena into his devoted queen! John was able to get through to the real Marlena in spite of the chip. Rolf had been one of Stefano’s most trusted operatives for many years, and he doesn’t want to ruin that status.

Meanwhile, Stefano continues to fight against Kayla’s attempts and efforts to turn him into Steve again by operating on him, and Rolf refuses to as well, leaving Kayla to decide whether to take the risk that her efforts will fail or to give Steve that one chance at getting himself and his life back!
