Clare Crawley Is The Next Bachelorette: What You Need To Know About Her

Clare Crawley is the next Bachelorette. While the season finale of The Bachelor is one week away, the new star of the next Bachelorette has already been making headlines. Clare Crawley, a 38-year-old hair stylist from Sacramento, California will lead The Bachelorette franchise into its sixteenth season.

Crawley made the announcement on Good Morning America, as per Yahoo! Entertainment. She found out this past weekend that she would become the show’s next leading lady.

Crawley Is Not New To The Bachelor Franchise

Crawley is not new to the Bachelor franchise. She first appeared during infamous Juan Pablo Galavis’ season of The Bachelor back in 2014. Crawley was the runner-up while Andi Dorfman was chosen from Galavis’ season as the next Bachelorette. Crawley also appeared on the first two seasons of Bachelor in Paradise and the global spinoff Bachelor Winter Games.

She has found love on television before. She got engaged to Frenchman Benoit Beausejour-Savard, who she met on Bachelor Winter Games. Their relationship started during filming and he proposed during the “Tell All” episode before calling off their engagement in April 2018. Crawley’s announcement could be a response to the backlash over Peter Weber’s season. Fans felt that the contestants are too young.

Most of the women are in their early 20s, which has become an outdated concept. Most people in their 20s are looking to hookup, while people in their 30s and 40s are looking for long-term partners after becoming established in their careers. Crawley surpasses Rachel Lindsay, who was 32 years old during filming, as the oldest Bachelorette in the franchise’s history. When Crawley was first introduced to Bachelor Nation, she was one of the older contestants at 32-years-old.

Crawley’s Older Age Also Suggests That The Contestants May Age Up As Well. But She’s Said That She’s Open To Dating Men Of Any Age

“I have been known to date young guys, so that’s not a problem for me,” Crawley said on GMA. “The thing is, I’m wondering if they’re ready for me with my age, so I feel like that would be more of an issue than me with them. I feel so much younger at heart than my actual age – I’m proud of my age, but I just feel younger, and that, to me, is what’s important.”

Crawley is sure to shakeup the Bachelor storyline and the Bachelorette franchise. She will also be a familiar face for all of Bachelor Nation. Filming for The Bachelorette starts this month and is expected to premiere in May. What are your thoughts on Clare Crawley becoming the next Bachelorette? Share off below in the comments section.
