Synopsis for ‘The Cabin’
According to NBC, the press release for the next episode of This Is Us teases that Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley), Kate Pearson (Chrissy Metz) and Randall Pearson (Sterling K. Brown) reconnect. Since the title is “The Cabin,” it is assumed that they will meet there and discuss the things that happened during the past few episodes.
As fans recall, the last three episodes all dealt with each sibling as they went through a “hell of a week.”
‘The Big Three’ Reconnect
As we saw in the three-part episode series, it began with Randall’s issues. Then, it moved on to Kate, whose marriage is literally hanging on by a thread. Last week, we finally saw Kevin, who told Randall on the phone that Sophie’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) mom died. Kevin was getting ready to go to her funeral.
However, just because they reconnect doesn’t mean things will go smoothly. There will be lots of drama for the three siblings.

Hartley discussed the upcoming episode with TV Line. He said, “Trying to be there for other people when you’re going through a lot of stuff is difficult. But they’re all connected. They’re family. And some s**t comes out. There’s a minor blow-up. Different ways of handling important situations.”

Truths, Secrets and Resentments to Come Out?
One of those situations has to be Kevin and Randall’s rift. It is known that the two have different opinions on how to handle their mother’s diagnosis. However, Randall is taking charge just like he always does.
Then, there are the issues from Kate’s past, most of them seem to have to do with her first relationship. As a teen, she became involved with “creepy Marc” (Austin Abrams), who was abusive.
We’ll have to see if these three can work things out. As for the setting, they won’t have service at the cabin and they will be stuck in the snow. So, that will just add to the already tense relations between “The Big Three.” This episode airs on February 18.
